Dr. Carroll specializes in psychological assessment/testing to gain a comprehensive understanding of each individual and guide personalized treatment planning that supports sustainable recovery. Her assessment approach is grounded in the biopsychosocial model, examining how biological, psychological, and contextual factors interact to influence well-being and offering individualized treatment recommendations across all three areas.
Dr. Carroll is dedicated to making the assessment process collaborative, culturally-sensitive, and transparent. She places high value on individuals’ expertise on their own lives, works to demystify assessment procedures, and actively engages loved ones, referral sources, and other members of an individual’s support system in the assessment process whenever possible. Her goal is for each person receiving assessment to feel informed, seen, and understood each step of the way.
Dr. Carroll earned her PhD in Counseling Psychology from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and completed her residency at The University of Texas at Austin. She has extensive training in assessment and therapy across community behavioral health, school, hospital, private practice, and University settings. She also has a background in integrated health and community-based research and is passionate about bridging the gap between physical and behavioral health care, particularly in how each is perceived and prioritized. She continues to engage in ongoing research around the impact of COVID-19 messaging on the public’s understanding of the pandemic and engagement in health behaviors.
Outside of Driftwood, Dr. Carroll enjoys live music, strong cups of coffee, staying active, and spending time outside.
